I first learned about the Bodybugg while looking at the Costco website. I wondered what in the world it was and after I read a few reviews, I knew I wanted it! I read several reviews on the Costco website and tried to compare best as I could to the other GoWear Fit System by reading different internet reviews.
I think each item has as many positive as it does "doesn't work" reviews so I was confused which item to purchase so I decided to buy both.
Costco sent the Bodybugg in 2 days. I'm still waiting on Amazon's GoWearFit product so I can only review this Bodybugg. That said,the packaging was very simple to remove the device and the start up directions very straight-forward. It took about 10 minutes for me to find the usb port, hint! the black body snaps out of the arm band! And once I found the usb port, it took another hour or so to set up my profile. The website was easy enough to navigate for set up and my Bodybugg worked fine.
It takes 3 hours to fully charge. I love popping over to the computer and doing a quick synch to see where I am at the moment. This whole process takes about 3 minutes. I am able to record my food intake. The caloric intake is limited in that it is divided into a 6 meals, so if I have had my 6 meals, but decide to have a glass of milk before bed, I have to go back in and edit my 6th meal to add that milk. This is a slight extra step beyond the weightwatcher's website, but not a dealbreaker.
I have only done one workout while wearing this and it was spinning. I have read that the BB does not do a great job of tracking burned calories for cyclists, but I can't comment on that just yet.
There is a coaching session that comes with this item and my "coach" has been very diligent in trying to contact me to set up a time for us to have our 45 minute phone chat. I think I'd like to wear this for another few days before I chat with her so as to get to figure it out best I can on my own and then ask questions about things I don't understand.
I have not had any skin irritations and it is not a bother at all under long-sleeved shirts.
I have only used this for two days so it's silly to comment on my 2 pound weight loss, but I am optimistic that this is going to be a wonderful tool to take away that emotional aspect to eating. It really reduces weight-loss to a more clinical level of calories in vs. calories burned and I am hoping that will help me fight different cravings and binges!

I've been using my Bodybugg (from 24-hr Fitness) for almost a year now. When I first bought it, I was afraid it was going to tell me what a lazy slug I was. In reality, it highlights my activity times. I find myself moving around just so I can see it on the activity graph. The positive feedback it gives me on my daily calorie burn and the ease of recording my food have been surprisingly fun and motivating. My trainer and I decided that for me, I would maintain a 1000 calorie per day deficit, which in a perfect world translates to about 2 pounds lost per week. I lost 50 pounds (which was my original goal) using the Bodybugg and a trainer at the gym. It's an amazing device.
I have super-sensitive skin. I'm allergic to perfumes, some dyes, and a host of environmental allergens. As long as I wash the elastic armband regularly, it does not irritate my skin. I just throw the elastic part of the arm band into the clothes washer with whatever batch I'm doing.
I only have one single warning: You cannot access the tech support web page without calling tech support first, there are no direct links from the Bodybugg program. The Bodybugg tech support line has hideously long wait times. I've had to call them twice this year. Both times, my device stopped uploading and I had to call tech support to reset the device. This morning I had to wait 45 minutes before I spoke to a human. In fairness, once I had them on the line, my problem was resolved efficiently. If the company improved their tech support, I'd add that fifth star to my review.

Purchased the bodybugg with the optional digital display (ok, you have to add this or it makes no sense to me). I have been using it to see the results of my Insanity workouts and my new TurboFire workouts. The HIIT 15 workout, which I thought at first seemed short and therefore would be ineffective actually gave me the most "afterburn" of a lot of these workouts. This bodybugg proved a few things to me; first, a little high intensity interval work sticks with you for literally hours and you will see it in your calorie burn during rest and even sleep. My only somewhat disappointment is that it is a little pricey and the armband is conspicuous enough that i have to take it off at work sometimes, especially now while sleeves are short. Otherwise, the learning curve is minimal ( i haven't used my coaching session) and the results seem very accurate. I think it will open people's eyes to the actual amount of calorie burn they have when they are sedentary versus active and shed the light on why we gain weight!

I bought the bodybugg one week ago and love it! First of all, I agree with the one reviewer who said buy it from [...]. That is what I did. It was only $[...], with free shipping and free one year subscription to the web site. That is much cheaper than any other location that I have found including ebay.
The set up was easy, i don't find the food logging that onerous and this program gives you a good feel for your calorie balance.
I was debating buying the display watch, but uploading data throughout the day is so easy, I am forgoing the extra $[...] as I don't really need it.
All in all, I am very happy with this purchase, espectially for the Costco price.

I've been watching the biggest loser on youtube. Their approach to weight loss is "eat healthy and exercise - a lot!" One of the trainers said, "If you know how many calories you burn in a day, how many calories you consume, and how many calories it takes for you to burn a pound of fat, then you control your own destiny".
I figure if those great big guys on the biggest loser can do it, so can I. So I purchased the bodybugg last month. Bought it from the manufacturer apex fitness. And it's working for me -lost 3 to 4 pounds per week so far.
I also recommend the biggest loser cookbook sold here on amazon.com
